Working Bees

It is required that members attend two working bees a year. The dates are advised in the newsletter and via the KGARC Facebook Page. Members are rostered to do ring drag and requested to volunteer and help out with official events/competitions.
The roster is sent out via e-mail and the monthly newsletter. If you are unable to carry out your duty as rostered it is your responsibility to find a replacement.

In partnership with the Pony Club we are holding a Working Bee on next date to be announced.
  • The day will be broken up into 2 hour blocks so that members can indicate which time/s they would like to attend.
  • Please contact Amy or Erica to register your participation.

You are required to tidy up after yourself whenever you use the grounds. All manure must be placed in the poo pile, rubbish should be placed in the bins or taken with you, and any mugs/plates/cutlery that you use in the clubhouse should be washed up, dried and put away.

Rally Duties

At each Rally, there will be a committee member assigned as the  Monitor.  If you are rostered to be the Assistant for the day, please make sure you contact the Monitor (committee member) BEFORE the day of the rally.  Duties of both the Monitor and the assistant are outlined below:

On the Day - before rally commences:

Print off the rally bookings sheet.

On the day of the Rally:

  • Unlock the clubrooms and club cupboard.
  • Put the tea and coffee out and put on the urn and coffee maker.
  • Make sure that there is toilet paper in the toilets.

    Instructors:

  • Greet the instructors, introduce yourself, offer them tea or coffee and explain what rings they are on (new instructors will not know where our rings are).
  • Committee member or assistant to take the money for the sessions and mark their name on the list of riders as “Paid”.
  • Instructor Payment:  This can be with the cash collected and/or with a cheque.  It is very important that a record of the monies taken is recorded in the book provided.  If there is money collected and not used for the instructors please fill out a deposit slip and place slip and money in an envelope provided and give it to President, Secretary or Treasurer.

Lunch
  • Lunch is BYO.   If you want to sit and have a yak, there are usually biscuits in the cupboard or feel free to bring something to share. The duty monitor may bring something to share too.

At the end of the day
There are a few reminders:
  • All members to wash their own cups
  • Pick up their horse’s poo
  • All jumps and poles that were taken out must be put away by those in the poles and jumping sessions.
  • Put away all mugs, tea coffee and sugar in cupboard, and wipe down benches and generally leave it clean and tidy for the next rally.
  • Put away folder keeping the list of riders for the day for the club records.
  • Lock everything up and go home.  Job well done!
