Contact: Penny Hymus to see the variety or lessons and instructors.

Weekend Rallies - 2nd Sunday of every month and the 4th Saturday of every month
Contact: Arty Brennan

Lessons types and start times vary weekly but generally run between 9 and 11am depending on instructors and numbers. Group lessons are kept to a manageable number by a team of dedicated Rally Coordinators, so that each rider can get full enjoyment from their lesson.  We are lucky enough to have numerous riding areas, so there can be at least 4 or 5 groups at any one time. Rallies have a $30.00 fee per lesson.
Rallies are not held on the second Sunday in December or on any special dates/events.

Conditions For Both Rallies: 
You  will be required to book into sessions by Tuesday 4.00pm of the rally week. We will aim to keep the groups to only 4 riders (occasionally 5 may be necessary). Bookings will be taken on a "first in best dressed" basis, with regard to which group you would like to ride in. The cost is $30.00 per lesson for 2 or more riders. If only 1 rider in a  session, the lesson will be cancelled or the rider can organize a private lesson with the instructor for $80.00.  In the event a member attends a rally without booking in, they will be accepted into a group only if there is less than 4 riders in that group.

Members  are more than welcome to attend a rally without their horse to catch up with friends and enjoy a social morning tea, and are also welcome to bring their horse and ride on the grounds on a rally day even if not doing a lesson. They just need to be sure not to disturb any lessons, and to use an arena that is not being used for lessons.

Fire danger days: Fire and Weather Policy for 2013 version 3 - The KGARC committee met on 5th February and clarified the following policy.

We are sorry if this inconveniences you but we want all riders, instructors and horses to be safe and able to enjoy their lessons.
Issue - Temperature 35 to 40 degrees and FDR is not Severe, Extreme or Code Red - Check Bureau of Meteorology, CFA website or CFA App.
Action - Lessons at 9.00am and 10.00am only.  No riding after 11.00am. Rally organisers will also send out an email.

Issue - Over 40 degrees Action - Lessons are automatically cancelled. No charge. Instructors and riders must check for themselves. Rally organisers will also send out an email.  Instructors will not be paid.
Issue - If Severe, Extreme or Code Red Action - Lessons are automatically cancelled. No charge. Instructors and riders must check for themselves. Rally organisers will also send out an email.  Instructors will not be paid.

If riders wish to organise a lesson privately with the instructors at a different venue, that will be their choice and not the responsibility of the KGARC committee.

Heat Policy:
On Thursdays if the forecast the night before is for 35 degrees or over then sessions will be held at 9.00am and 10.00am only. If you have booked into a later session, you will need to re-book. You will not be individually notified that the heat policy is being invoked; it is your duty to check the forecast the night before. Sunday rallies will start at 9:00am, to try to avoid the worst of the heat.
On very hot days we will be flexible with what activities we do in the second session (will try to do some less intensive activities). It is more than likely that on very hot days the rally will automatically be cancelled due to fire danger.

Non-Attendance:
If you have booked in, and you fail to turn up, for whatever reason, you will still be required to pay $30.00, as instructors still need to be paid. If you book in but need to cancel, if you do so before Tuesday 4.00pm, you will not be  required to pay the non-attendance fee.

Rally Etiquette
Please ensure you are ready to ride on time. Latecomers joining a group are a disruption to both riders and instructors. The club understands that sometimes arriving late is unavoidable e.g. Horse has other ideas about being caught, floated etc. To minimize disruption any latecomers are asked to warm up in a separate area and then join their group unobtrusively.

Add any manure your horse may have made to the poo pile from the yards or by your float before leaving.

If you have booked into a jumping lesson you need to arrive early to help put out jumps and poles and at the end of your lesson you may need to help put away the jumps and poles. It is a HRCAV and insurance requirement that you wear a medical armband for jumping and an approved hard hat and appropriate riding footwear for all lessons.

NOTE:  YOU MUST BOOK FOR EACH RALLY YOU WISH TO ATTEND NO LATER THAN THE TUESDAY OF THE WEEK BEFORE.

Capping
Fee:
HRCAV fees and  Insurance and membership fees allow you 3 visits to another club with paying only a capping fee. Our capping fee is $30.00.
